And I am in love. I love big luxury sedans and Lexus has continued the excellence that is the 5th gen LS. Here’s the pricing break down.
First off. There is the LS500. You can get it in rear or all wheel drive. The rear wheel drive model starts at $75,995; awd bumps that base price up to $79,215. There are 9 exterior color choices, 2 of those are only available with select options: Ultra White is only available with the F Sport trim and Nightfall Mica, which is like a navy blue can only be had with 2 certain interior leather/wood combos. I choose black because that’s my go to with cars.
Heaven
Interior color choose are good. There are 10 total wood/leather combos, but 7 of those can only be had with certain options and look interesting. I choose this
White leather with Artwood Herringbone trim. I think its gorgeous. Adding this though, required the addition of $1500 adaptive air suspension and $2450 for 20' polished alloy wheels and an eye watering $17,080 for the rear seat executive package that includes:
PASSENGER-SEAT POWER CUSHION EXTENDER
BUTTERFLY POWER-RETRACTABLE FRONT HEADRESTS
22-WAY POWER REAR SEATS WITH BUTTERFLY HEADRESTS, MEMORY AND MULTIFUNCTION MASSAGE WITH HEAT
RIGHT-REAR POWER RECLINER* WITH OTTOMAN* AND MULTIFUNCTION SHIATSU MASSAGER
REMOTE ADJUSTMENT FOR PASSENGER SEAT
CLIMATE-COMFORT FRONT AND OUTBOARD-REAR SEATS
POWER SIDE-WINDOW SUNSHADES
WOOD- AND LEATHER-TRIMMED REAR-CENTER CONSOLE WITH 7.0-INCH TOUCHSCREEN
REAR-SEAT KNEE AIRBAGS* (SRS)
SEMI-ANILINE, PERFORATED LEATHER–TRIMMED INTERIOR
POWER RECLINING REAR SEATS
And takes the back seat to this:
Selecting that interior color choice also required the addition of $1940 for the Mark Levinsion audio system, $800 for a pano view monitor, $800 for the special Herringbone wood, and $410 for a heated wheel.
Including the afore added $17 grand Executive package, there are 5 pricey ass option packages:
Cold Weather Package $220: adds windsheidl de-icer, headlamp washers, and enhanced interior heater for fasting heating in cold weather
Interior Upgrade Package $3730: adds semi-aniline leather trimmed interior, ultrasuede headliner and sun visors, wood and leather wheel and shifter, semi aniline leather door arm rests, heated rear seats and 28 way power front seats with multifuction massage.
Luxury Package $12,290: is pretty much a executive package lite: comes with passenger seat power cushion extender, 28 way front massaging seat, remote adjustment for passenger seat, four zone climate concierge (whatever that means), climate comfort front and outboard rear seats, power rear sunshades, wood and leather trimmed rear console with 7 inch touchscreen, rear seat knee airbags, power reclining rear seats.
Executive Package with Kiriko Glass $23,100: pretty much is the executive package but adds the fancy sculpted glass trim to the dash.
Lexus Safety System A $3000: adds all speed dynamic radar cruise control, pre collision system with front cross traffic alert and auto braking, active steering assist and an hud display, pedestrian detection alert and road sign assist.
Now with the options I already had, most of these packages required changes. Just to be extra, I added the Executive Package with the Kiriko Glass for 23 grand which required the interior leather to be changed to black and the removal of the Herringbone wood for the glass and I added the safety system A package, which required the addition of $300 adaptive front lighting.
There are 11 options, most of which can be had in any of the option packages or require the packages if you try to add them individually:
Pano roof for $1000
Adaptive suspension for $1500
24 inch HUD for $1220
19' wheels
20' wheels for $200
Heated wood and leather wheel for $410
LED headlights with adaptive lighting for $300
Mark Levinsion 23 speaking audio system for $1940
Pano View Monitor $800
Art Wood Organic or Herringbone laser cut wood trims for $800
20' polished wheels for $2450
With the packages I had, most of these were already added. I only added the pano roof
All in, you’re looking at a 6 figure LS, even if you don’t add the expensive glass package. Total for my LS rwd was $110,495. Weirdly, the awd LS with the same exact options is $100 bucks cheaper.
The equally gorgeous LS F Sport starts $81,995. With the F Sport, there are only 2 interior leather trim choices, Black or red leather with what Lexus calls Nagiuri Aluminum trim, which looks like carbon fiber. There at 9 exterior color options and 3 available with select options. Only one of the 3 can choose with the F sport. I choose Black with red interior. Option wise there are only 3: the cold weather package, the Safety System A and a $9700 Performance Package which I say is about time in a F Sport trim. It includes:
VARIABLE GEAR-RATIO STEERING
DYNAMIC REAR STEERING
ACTIVE STABILIZERS
20-INCH SPLIT-FIVE-SPOKE ALLOY WHEELS* WITH DARK GRAPHITE FINISH
SIX-PISTON FRONT BRAKE CALIPERS WITH 15.7-INCH VENTILATED DISCS
LFA-INSPIRED SLIDING INSTRUMENTATION
F SPORT PERFORATED LEATHER–TRIMMED STEERING WHEEL AND SHIFT KNOB
F SPORT 28-WAY POWER FRONT SEATS WITH ENHANCED BOLSTERS AND EMBOSSED HEADRESTS
F SPORT PERFORATED LEATHER SEAT TRIM
ALUMINUM PEDALS AND INTERIOR TRIM
F SPORT–TUNED SUSPENSION
BLACK ULTRASUEDE ® HEADLINER
PASSENGER-SEAT POWER CUSHION EXTENDER
I added this and the Saftey System along with the Mark Levinson sound system and pano roof. All in, $101,455 for the F Sport. No matter how you go about it, the LS is going to be 6 figures of rolling precision, reliable Japanese luxury.

Holy crap, that is an achingly beautiful car. That interior especially is giving both Mercedes and Lincoln a run for their money.

Its on a whole other level than them.

Wait, if you pay 23k extra for the super fancy interior, they don’t even let you choose the colour?

Correct. That 23 grand and that fancy glass is only available with black leather interior. 23 grand you should at least have more customization.
